I just got back from a short 9 day trip to Prague and Croatia…Split, Korcula and Dubrovnik to be exact. There were a few things my friends and I noticed about the way of life there. I am not sure if America just made things more difficult for ourselves when we established as a country or what but here is a short list…
Grown adults licking ice cream cones. You hardly ever see this in the US.
Nudity is not an issue. We saw a young lady change out of her bathing suit right in front of us while we were laying out at the waterfalls of Krka, Croatia.
All the cafes have outdoor seating that faces the street and not each other.
Family comes first and not yourself. Americans are very selfish people.
Public make-out sessions are normal.
Guys wear speedos.
They get a ton of vacation time. At least four weeks a year easily. As for Americans, a measly 2 weeks. Let’s just say we work to live instead of live to work.
Europeans walk everywhere! New Yorkers do too but Angelinos not so much.
Dinner is a long leisurely activity which it should be. The waitstaff gets paid good money and doesn’t rely on tips.
The measuring system. The rest of the world uses the metric system but for some reason America decided to create a new measuring system. Which in turn fucks us all over when we travel. I don’t know how many metres are in a mile or what the conversion is from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Do you?
I’ve come to the realization that I need to work in the sports field. Especially tennis.
